19 YR OLD DRIVING ON HEROIN WITH FLAT TIRE AT 3:50 a.m.

Wednesday, July 15, 2015 @ approximately 3:50 AM – Police arrested Jonathan T. Bruno, age 19 of Raritan Township, and charged him with driving under the influence of a narcotic drug (heroin) following a motor vehicle stop on Dayton Road. P.O. Anthony Moreno was out on Dayton Road with a fallen tree limb hanging on electrical wires awaiting the arrival of JCP&L. At that time, Bruno’s vehicle passed P.O. Moreno’s location and P.O. Moreno observed that the entire passenger side of Bruno’s vehicle was damaged and the front passenger side tire was flat. P.O. Moreno subsequently stopped Bruno’s vehicle. Investigation revealed that Bruno’s vehicle side swiped the guard rail on Rt. 202/31 North, in the area of Hart Boulevard, just prior to his contact with P.O. Moreno on Dayton Road. Bruno reported no injuries. He was issued additional motor vehicle summonses for careless driving, reckless driving, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash, failure to report a motor vehicle crash, uninsured vehicle, probationary driver’s license violation and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. He was also charged criminally with possession of heroin and possession of a hypodermic syringe. The vehicle was towed and Bruno was released to a friend after processing.
