After hearing months of positive feedback we took a spin into Easton Saturday late afternoon to try out Third and Ferry Fish Market and we are happy to report that the buzz was right on point, it is fantastic.

I’m not sure how the parking would be in the evening on a weekend, Easton does get a bit overfilled for its original street structure, but parking mid afternoon was a snap and we pulled in right across from the building and didn’t have to walk but a few steps.  If you want to park in a garage it’s a short walk out the door and to the right.

Inside the property is striking. The long bar runs completely down the right side, with two seat high tops bordering the bar. There is further seating on the lower level but if you want a very nice perspective sit upstairs and look down at the diners coming to and fro, it’s a nice treat and a perfect way to spend a long lunch afternoon.

We arrived around three p.m. and they still had the lunch menu going, which was diverse, interesting and right on a proper price point.

Started with a Ceviche appetizer that was simply out of this world.  The fish was brilliantly fresh and when put upon the plantain chip melted in your mouth.  Wonderful.  And at $6 was a complete steal.

Next up Spicy Tuna Tartare, great bite, great texture, great taste. If you are a raw fish fan this is certainly a stop you want to make. If you are dining with more than one person there are three very healthy portions on the plate that would be simple to share if you wanted to order multiple items. Nice dish and very filling.

Jumbo shrimp cocktail came out next and was sweet and juicy. The shrimp was indeed of large size and a perfect complement to the Ceviche and Tuna dishes. If this is your go to safety spot at a fish market you won’t be disappointed.

Finally to round out lunch we ordered the fish taco. Magnificent, I could have eaten three orders. Every bite was another taste explosion and I simply could not get enough, very sad when the plate was empty.  It was a great ending to a flavorful meal that made you think immediately that you wanted to come back and try other things.

For those of you who like an adult beverage or two they make many specialty drinks, have a nice wine list and the martinis  are on special occasionally during the week. On Sundays for brunch they have a colossal Bloody Mary full of skewered fish surprises which is a local legend.

Overall impression, we would go back any time and plan on it. The price point was reasonable, the staff very friendly and the offerings perfectly sized and delicious.

Well Done.
