86 yr old man fails to stop – youngsters injured

On Sunday, May 29, at approximately 8:30 pm, a 2015 Honda Accord operated by Praveen Dorai-Swamy, 41, of Plainsboro, was stopped for a red light on Route 31 South at the intersection with Halstead Street. A 2014 Chevrolet Impala operated by Jerry Granato, age 86, of Iselin, which was traveling Route 31 South, did not stop and struck the Dorai-Swamy vehicle from behind. Passengers in the DoraiSwamy vehicle – Aishuaryk Nalla, age 9 and Meghana Nalla, age 13; both of Plainsboro – suffered apparent minor injuries. The airbags in the Granato vehicle deployed and both had to be towed from the scene. The investigating officer issued Mr. Granato a motor vehicle summons for Careless Driving
