Adam Walter Teschke “Kip” , 68, passed into God’s hands Thursday June 23, at the Hunterdon Medical Center.
Born and raised in Trenton, Kip had lived in W. Amwell Twp. for the past 37 years. He was a graduate of Trenton High School, class of 1965 and was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Kip retired as a Lieutenant working for Mercer County Corrections Facility in Hopewell Twp. In retirement, he worked for the City of Lambertville in parking enforcement and he also worked at South Hunterdon Regional High School.
He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and was assigned to the USS America Aircraft Carrier CVA-66, serving as an Aerographer Mate. He kept track of the weather every day for over 50 years. He was an active member of the American Legion Toscanni Post # 120, the Veterans of Foreign War Post # 7921, both in Lambertville, the Police Benevolent Association # 167, Superior Officers Local, Fraternal Order of Police Lodge # 96, Boston Emerald Society, the Hibernia’s in Hamilton Twp. Kip was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan, enjoyed The Three Stooges and Sherlock Holmes. He loved to vacation in Wildwood and Virginia Beach.
Adam is predeceased by his father, Adam J. Teschke and Step-nephew Samuel J. Romano. He is survived by his mother Valentina Bystricki Teschke, and his wife of 44 years Susanne Zeiler Teschke, one son Eric S. Teschke and his girlfriend Melissa Keyser, three sisters, Lynn Romano and husband Sam, Patricia Teschke and fiancée Christopher Upkes, Cathy Nicolini, husband Don, his sister- in- law Joan Fell, his godson nephew Joseph Nicolini, Nieces, Karen Fell and husband Eric Evenson, Lisa Fell and husband Ben Rifkin, Sarah Nicolini and fiancée John Nestor, Nephew, Christopher Romano, Great Nieces Hannah Rifkin, Olivia and Great Nephews Michael Evenson, Nathan Rifkin and Jesse Evenson, and many other extended family members.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9:15 am at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 1608 Harbourton Rocktown Rd., Lambertville, NJ 08530. Burial will follow in the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown Pa. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 6-8 pm at the church and again Wednesday from 8:30 am until the time of the service at the church.
