ARMED BANK ROBBERY IN READINGTON UNDER INVESTIGATION

Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns, III, Chief of Detectives John J. Kuczynski, and Readington Township Police Chief Sebastian Donaruma announced that an armed robbery of the Unity Bank on Route 22 is under investigation.

 

According to Prosecutor Kearns, “On Saturday May 9th, at 12:01 PM, Readington Township Police were dispatched to a bank robbery that had just occurred at the Unity Bank on Route 22 near Fire Lane. The investigation is in the preliminary stages at this time, but we know that two armed suspects entered the bank and demanded cash. No injuries were reported. The suspects were able to get away prior to police arrival.”

 

The Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Bureau and Crime Scene Unit are on scene with members of the FBI and Readington Township Detectives. This is an active investigation and further details will be released when they are available.
