On Sunday, June 5, at approximately 7:15 am, officers received a report of a dead bear on Route 31 South between Regional Road and Allerton Road. Upon arrival, an officer located the bear against the concrete barrier in the fog lane. The officer removed the bear, which had apparently been struck by a vehicle, to the far right shoulder. The officer contacted the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife, which advised that someone from that agency would respond to remove the bear. archer
