Betty Ann Hoffman, age 86, of High Bridge

Betty Ann Hoffman, age 86, of High Bridge, NJ passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Twp., NJ.

She was born on June 28, 1931 in Long Valley, NJ.  She was a lifelong resident of Hunterdon County, living in High Bridge since the 1950’s.

She was the daughter of the late Archie and Angie Ader Hoffman.

Her father being a Farmer, Betty grew up living on various farms in Hunterdon County, including a farm that now is in Round Valley Reservoir property.

Her husband, Raymond R. Hoffman, passed away in 1998.

Betty was a graduate of High Bridge High School.

Betty was a Certified Nurse’s Aide.  She worked for many years at the Union Forge Nursing Home and later worked for Hagedorn Psychiatric Hospital in Lebanon Twp. where she was employed for 20 years.

She was a longtime member of High Bridge Reformed Church and also an active member of the Red Hat Society.

Betty enjoyed sewing, crocheting, needlepoint and doing embroidery.  She also enjoyed tending to her vegetable garden and canning.  She loved family get-togethers and especially loved attending family birthday parties and holidays.

Survivors include one son; Larry A. Hoffman and his wife Nancy of Port Murray, NJ.  Two grandchildren; Justin Hoffman and his wife Jordan Race-Hoffman of Upper Mount Bethel, PA and Andrew Hoffman and his girlfriend Stephanie Fisher of Bangor, PA.  Betty is also survived by two sisters; Carol Hudecek of Annandale, NJ and Lois Voorhees of Lebanon, NJ.  Many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased in addition to her husband by one son; David Hoffman, who passed away in 1991 and one brother; Ronald Hoffman.

Calling hours will be Sunday, September 10, 2017 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Naughright-Scarponi Funeral Home, 66 Main Street, High Bridge, NJ. Funeral Service will be Monday, September 11, 2017 at 11am at High Bridge Reformed Church, 23 Church Street, High Bridge, NJ.  Interment at Lower Valley Cemetery in Califon, NJ.
