Celebrate Clinton: 150th Anniversary BLOCK PARTY
On May 30, rain or shine, there will be a block party that starts 11:00 a.m. at the Red Mill Museum Village, with the opening of an exhibit that depicts the 150 years of Clinton. There will be pony rides located at the entrance of the museum property. At the Art Museum, there will be music, arts and crafts for children, Alex’s Lemonade stand and tables and chairs for adults while the children do their crafts or pet the alpacas!
The streets will be closed to vehicular traffic, walk Main Street and East Main Street where all types of food will be available! All the shops will participate with merchandise outside their shops, and sampling of all sorts of treats! Food and music continue on East Main Street, plus magic shows, gymnastics, face painting, and more vendors to visit. Clinton Book Shop will have Sean Delonas, cartoonist for the New York Post. Gymnastic demonstrations and opportunities for children of all ages to join in! Encore music will have their choir performing and at the Clinton Fire Department, MORE FOOD, MORE MUSIC, PLUS THE NEW JERSEY HALL OF FAME MUSEUM AND A BEER/WINE GARDEN! Come one, come all!!!! A tethered hot air balloon will be taking folks up to a great view of Clinton beginning at 6:00 pm in the Municipal Building parking lot on Old 22 and Leigh Street.
Parking will be available in the Municipal lot, Water Street lot, the Clinton Methodist Church on Halstead Street and the NJ Water Authority on Halstead Street north of the library. We encourage nearby residents to stroll into Downtown Clinton for a wonderful day! 150th birthday cake will round out the celebration and the presentation of a proclamation from Congressman Leonard Lance. Other dignitaries may join us as well!
