Brake light out – POT

On Saturday, April 11, at approximately 11:10 am, Patrolman Sean Ross stopped a 2002 Hyundai Sonata operated by Phyllip Scott, age 18, of Glen Gardner on Route 31 near Route 513 for having a brake light out and because the passenger discarded debris from the vehicle. During the stop, Ptl. Ross detected the odor of marijuana inside of the vehicle and observed Mr. Scott attempting to conceal something. He soon discovered to a bag of marijuana and a pipe in the vehicle. As a result, Ptl. Ross charged Mr. Scott with Possession of Under 50 Grams of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Operating a Motor Vehicle While In Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance. The passenger was given a warning for Littering. Both were released ROR.
