BROTHER FIGHT LEADS TO MAN RUNNING ON 78

On Wednesday, July 22, at approximately 12:10 pm, Patrolman Jeffery Glennon responded to a Cokesbury Road business for a report of a fight in progress between two employees. Upon arrival, Ptl. Glennon met with a thirty-eight (38) year-old Plainfield man who was punched in the face and knocked to the ground by his halfbrother, a thirty-five (35) year-old Jersey City man. The Jersey City man then fled the scene on foot, entering onto Interstate 78. As a New Jersey State Police troop car later approached, the Jersey City man walked off of I-78 toward the area of Deer Hill Road. Officers searched the area and soon found the man walking on Edson Terrace. Due to the fact that the victim exhibited signs of injury, and due to this incident being domestic violence-related, the Jersey City man was arrested, charged with Simple Assault, and later released ROR. The victim decided not to apply for a temporary restraining order.
