Charles J. Pierman, age 85 years, of Delaware Township, NJ, died Monday, January 16, 2017, at the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in West Amwell Township, NJ, March 23, 1931, son of the late Charles S. and Edith M. Stocker Pierman, Charles had resided in Delaware Township since 1958.
He was a graduate of Trenton Junior College and was a draftsman and was employed as a sheet metal worker at General Motors, Trenton, NJ, until retiring.
He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War serving 1951-1954 and was discharged with the rank of Cpl.
Known as “Cowboy Chuck” in WDVR, Sergeantsville, NJ, he was host of Heartlands Hayride at WDVR since the radio station’s founding. Charles was also a member of VFW Post #8390 of Sergeantsville, NJ and Toscanini American Legion Post of Lambertville, NJ.
His wife, Frances Drews Pierman, died in 2012 and he was also pre-deceased by a brother, Thomas Pierman.
Surviving are two daughters, Suzanne Weaver of Doylestown, PA and Sandra Furmanek, of Warren Glen, NJ; two sons, Charles J. Pierman, Jr. and his wife, Susan, of Locktown, NJ, and Christian D. Pierman and his wife, Peggy, of Cornersville, TN.; two brothers, James Pierman and Robert H. Pierman, both of Lambertville, NJ; eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 23, 2017, at 11:00 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Rosemont Cemetery, Rosemont, NJ. Calling hours will be Sunday 6:00-9:00 PM at the funeral home.
