CL TWP OFFICER SAVES Dog Struck By Car

On Sunday, March 29, at approximately 1:15 pm, Patrolman John Tiger observed a dog running along Route 31 near Interstate 78 when it was struck by a vehicle. Ptl. Tiger was unable to get a clear look at the striking vehicle due to the crash occurring on the other side of Route 31. The striking vehicle continued without stopping. Ptl. Tiger and Patrolman Joseph SanGiovanni stopped Route 31 traffic while Ptl. SanGiovanni located the dog along the guardrail. Ptl. SanGiovanni placed the injured dog in his patrol vehicle and transported it to Crown Veterinary on Blossom Hill Road, where it was treated for its injuries. Both the dog’s owner as well as the Animal Control Officer were contacted and responded to Crown Veterinary. The dog suffered injuries but survived.
