Clinton Sunrise Rotary to Dedicate Fit Trail in Clinton

The Clinton Sunrise Rotary has a history of giving.  In May, that tradition will continue when it dedicates a Fitness Trail in the Town of Clinton.  Hunts Mill Park is the home of the new Fit Trail being donated to the Town by Clinton Sunrise Rotary.  The formal dedication ceremony & celebration is scheduled for Saturday, May 9, 2015, from 1-2 pm.

Dignitaries from the Town of Clinton and from District 7510 of Rotary International will be in attendance to witness the ceremonial ribbon cutting.  Residents of Clinton and the surrounding communities are invited to attend the short program, tour the new trail and share in some celebratory refreshments.

Comprised of 6 workout stations along the jogging path which connects the soccer fields to Hunts Mill Pond in the park, the Fit Trail has been a 5 year project undertaken by the members of Clinton Sunrise Rotary Club.  Working in cooperation with the Parks Commission of the Town of Clinton, the design and location of the Trail were developed to provide simple exercise stations that can be used by area residents of all ages in a scenic setting.  There are 2 different types of exercise equipment at each stop and instructions for use are displayed at each station.

Fund raising by the club, community sponsor donations and grants from the Rotary International Foundation and the Holt Charitable Foundation provided the funding for the $40,000.00 project that Clinton Sunrise Rotary is donating to the Town of Clinton.

The Rotary eClub of Hunterdon Horizons has partnered with Clinton Sunrise to beautify the trail and provide the refreshments at the dedication.  The Fit Trail dedication will also serve to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the formation of the Clinton Sunrise Rotary Club.

Hunts Mill Park is also home to Hunts Mill Field, community baseball fields.  Parking for the event is near the baseball field entrance to the park.
