Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) released the following statement in response to the Supreme Court’s ruling in the King v. Burwell case:
“Today’s ruling, while disappointing, does not change the fact that ObamaCare is a fundamentally flawed law. Each day more and more families and small businesses are facing the tough and costly realities of the health care law: higher health insurance premiums, burdensome taxes, regulations and mandates and the loss of the health plan Americans have and like. That’s why I remain committed to its repeal and its replacement with patient-centered reforms that lower costs, increase choices and provide greater access to affordable quality care.”
Lance is a cosponsor of H.R. 2300, the Empowering Patients First Act. This legislation repeals and replaces the President’s health care law with a broad package of reforms that include individual health pools and expanded health savings accounts, tax credits for the purchase of coverage and medical malpractice reforms to reduce the costly practice of defensive medicine.
