After a quick tour around town this past weekend one thing was crystal clear, the Borgata is Atlantic City’s finest hotel. Removed from the other now decrepit boardwalk hotels the Borgata is a stately tower with wonderful service, brilliant accommodations, fine restaurants, a well equipped gym, spa and pool.
The Borgata is located in the marina district, which is a five minute car ride from the boardwalk. It is across the street from the large boat basin, which, in season, houses over 350 vessels, providing a lovely backdrop on the ocean inlet.
Room rates range from a lower floor room starting at $140 to a large water view suite which costs $559.00 There are both smoking and non smoking rooms that have a full range of cable tv channels and wi fi in the room for your cell, laptop and tablet use.
The room we were given had two queen beds, a large refrigerator, marble bathroom with a large glass encased shower and a fine view of the ocean, marina and inlet. The maid service couldn’t have been better, happily brining us extra towels in under 20 minutes. On the second day the room was cleaned expertly with the trash emptied, beds snapped back to perfection and new coffee and condiments replenished. The bathroom was squeaky clean upon our return and the ice bucket was refilled, a nice touch.
As far as the casino goes, the main room is enormous, plenty of tables, machines and all other options for the person wanting to toss some dollars about. Gambling cards are available which signs you up for future offerings of reduced future rooms and the like.
After spending a long weekend we were thrilled that the Borgata was the place that hosted our stay, it is clearly the only choice for excellence in Atlantic City and we highly recommend it to anyone heading in that direction.
