On Tuesday, March 31, at approximately 8:15 am, Patrolman Drew MacQueen responded to Hibbler Road for a report of a dog struck by a car. Upon arrival, Ptl. MacQueen observed that the dog, a cocker spaniel, had died. The driver of the striking vehicle advised that the dog ran directly into the path of her vehicle and that she had no way of avoiding it. As Ptl. MacQueen was awaiting the arrival of the Animal Control Officer, the dog’s owner – who was out looking for the dog – arrived, wrapped the dog in a blanket, and removed it from the scene.
