Donald C. Sciss
UPPER BLACK EDDY, PA – Donald Charles Sciss of Upper Black Eddy PA, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, March 19, 2016 surrounded by his family and his loyal canine companions. Don was born March 6, 1946 in Upper Black Eddy, Pennsylvania where he resided until his death. He graduated from Palisades High School, served in the Army National Guard, and worked for Jersey Central Power and Light (JCP&L) for over 35 years. Throughout his life he was active in his community; coaching youth athletics at the Bridgeton AA; being the “unofficial mayor” of Upper Black Eddy and overseeing Sciss Lawnmower Shop with his father and mother. Don’s favorite hobby was hunting. He was passionate about hunting and was privileged to know many friends who allowed his presence on their property during the different seasons. “He was a great man.” A saying often used to describe Don. He was always the topic of conversation; most notable; he loved a bar full of people in his basement, portraying “Tim the Tool Man” and a family favorite: rendering him the “Golden Boy.”
Don was the son of Lester and Eleanor Sciss. He is survived by his loving wife, Marsha R. Sciss (Thomas), his parents Lester and Eleanor Sciss (Pittenger), son Michael Sciss and Michele (Baker), daughter Kelly (Sciss) and Ted Mulroy. Grandchildren Brooke Mulroy, Tyler Mulroy, Brielle Sciss and Alexcia Sciss, and his best friends, Larry High and Bill White. He is predeceased in death by granddaughter Bailey Nicole Sciss and sister Barbara (Sciss) DeGraw.
Upon Don’s request, there will be no services. Arrangements are under the care of the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Milford, NJ.
