Dorothy Elizabeth (née Twetan) Pignaloso, age 81, of Lebanon Twp., NJ went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at her home.
She was born on September 18, 1936 in Queens, NY. She spent many years in Queens before she married her beloved husband, Michael Pignaloso, Sr. in 1954. The couple then moved to Pennsylvania where Michael attended Bible School. In 1958, Dorothy moved to Bunnvale, NJ where her husband established Bunnvale Assembly of God and where Dorothy was an integral force behind the Church and a Faithful Servant of the ministry at the Church.
Her husband, Michael, passed away in August of 2016 after 62 years of marriage.
Dorothy was the daughter of the late Arnt and Lillian Christiansen Twetan.
Dorothy had various jobs over the years including working for A.M. Best and also as a Social Worker for Head Start where she worked for over 10 years. She also worked for Flemington Cut Glass, yet her biggest job was as a mother to her 10 children.
Dorothy loved to spend time with her family and she lovingly prepared Sunday dinner at her home for years for anyone who could attend. She also enjoyed shopping, playing scrabble and doing puzzles.
Survivors include her children: Donna and Greg Kendrick of Conway, SC; Doris and Donald Sisto of Landing, NJ; Michael Jr. and Judy Pignaloso of Washington, NJ; Dawn and Joseph Farley of Wilson, PA; Daniel and Natalie Pignaloso of Stafford, VA, and Diane and Douglas Parker of Green Township, NJ; also, Ann Marie and Mark Gibson of Califon, NJ; Eric Pederson of Andover, NJ, Peter and Nike Brandner of Califon, NJ, and Andrew Panza of Randolph, NJ. Dorothy is also survived by her 33 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by 2 sisters; Lillian Vasquez and her husband Thomas of Melbourne, FL and Ruth Visser of Hinesville, GA.
She was predeceased in addition to her husband by her children, Darlene Brandner, Debra Gibson, Dora Pederson and Dorothy Panza; also her three grandchildren and one great- grandchild. She was also predeceased by 3 brothers; Leonard Twetan, Carl Twetan and Clifford Twetan and 2 sisters; Jenny Kjoistad and Edna Nygaard.
Viewings will be held at Bunnvale Assembly of God on Sunday, January 28, 2018, from 3 -5pm and 6:30 – 7:30 p.m., with services beginning at 7:30 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Monday morning, January 29, 2018, at 10 am at the Fairmont Cemetery, Tewksbury Township, N.J.
