Dorothy M. Coleman, age 96 years, of Delaware Township, NJ, died on Thursday, May 11, 2017 in the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Clifton, NJ, August 24, 1920, she was the daughter of the late George and Tillie Van Doren Kusant.
Mrs. Coleman was a graduate of Lambertville High School. She had formerly worked at the Old Egg Auction, Flemington, NJ, and was a School Bus Driver for Delaware Township. She was a member of Old Rocks Church.
Dorothy was a lifetime avid Phillies fan, loved to play pinochle, enjoyed camping, traveling, playing bocce, spending winters in Florida, and time with her family. She was also a big fan of 4-H and the Hunterdon County Fair, where she used to check in the farm produce and could always be seen watching her children and grandchildren show their 4-H cows.
Her husband, John “Jack” Edson Coleman, died in 2010. Surviving are her five children, Betty Jane Hunt, of West Amwell Township, NJ, Nancy Bachardy and her husband Ted, of Flemington, NJ, Joann Vieth and her husband Ken, of Rosemont, NJ, Jack Coleman, Jr. and his wife Donna, of Ronks, PA and Debi Brenner and her husband Frank, of Waretown, NJ; a sister, Edna Garboski, of Ormond Beach, FL; eighteen grandchildren; and thirty-one great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at 3 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Barber’s Burial Grounds, Delaware Township, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2017 from 1 PM until time of service in the funeral home.
