Hillsborough, NJ – Dorothy M. Victors, age 84, died Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the Somerset Medical Center in Somerville, NJ.
Born February 7, 1931, Dorothy grew up in Brooklyn, NY, and had many fond memories on a family farm in Ringoes, NJ. At an early age, she labored as a factory worker and later did office work in Manhattan. Dorothy completed her GED, graduated with an AS degree from Nassau Community College, received a scholarship to earn her BBA from Hofstra University, and then later attended SUNY at Stony Brook towards a Master’s degree in Social Work. She retired as a Social Worker with Nassau County after working there for several years.
Dorothy enjoyed travelling, making a grand tour of Europe and visiting many of the National Parks in the western United States. She loved spending time in her garden tending to her flowers, listening to classical music, and spent many hours reading various books and novels.
Dorothy was predeceased by her brother, Thomas Deptulski. She is survived by her sons, Mark Victors and Andrew Victors, as well as her brother, Valentine Deptulski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am, Saturday, May 16, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 105 Summer Rd, Three Bridges, NJ 08887, officiated by the Rev. Thomas J. Serafin. Interment will follow in St. Magdalen Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be Friday evening from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822.
