Dr. Edward P. Linehan
BRIDGETON TOWNSHIP, PA – Dr. Edward P. Linehan, D.C., 94, of Bridgeton Township, PA, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at his home.
Born January 16, 1923 in Manchester, NH, Edward graduated from St. Joseph High School in Manchester and attended Tufts University in Massachusetts. In 1943, he was inducted into the US Army and after three months of basic training, was assigned to Princeton University Army Medical School in Washington, DC. Edward served in the European Theater in the medical defense serving in Normandy during World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1946. Edward completed his internship at Walter Reed General, Gallinger Municipal, and Providence General Hospitals. After that, he attended the Palmer School of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. Edward had offices in Doylestown, Levittown, and Upper Black Eddy, PA and Moss Vale, Australia during his 67 years of practice.
Son of the late Edward G. and Elizabeth (Smith) Linehan, Edward is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years Joanne D. Linehan, his two daughters Joyce Linehan and Sharon Doumas, his step-daughter Deborah DeCorrevont and her husband Bill, his step-son Duane Haas and his companion Marge, his four grandchildren Ian Doumas, Grant Doumas, Anna Murphy, and William Linehan, and his two great-grandchildren Brinley and Griffin. He was predeceased by his son Edward C. Linehan and his sister Pauline Linehan.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 30, 2017 at 7:30 PM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township, NJ. Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 6-7:30 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at 11 AM at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA.
