Driving While Intoxicated

On Tuesday, May 17, at approximately 1:45 am, an officer stopped a 2006 Ford Focus operated by James Mileto, age 22, of Clinton, after observing the vehicle’s third brake light to be out at the intersection of Route 173 and Center Street. During the stop, the officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage on Mr. Mileto’s breath and soon determined that he was intoxicated. Mr. Mileto was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he provided samples of his breath for chemical testing to determine the content of alcohol in his blood. Mr. Mileto was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Maintenance of Lamps. He was released to the custody of a responsible adult and his vehicle was towed and impounded.
