Driving While Intoxicated

On Sunday, May 1, at approximately 2:40 am, an officer stopped a 2009 Hyundai Elantra operated by Christopher Haines, age 23, of Clinton Township, on Route 31 South near Grayrock Road for motor vehicle violations. During the stop, the officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage on Mr. Haines’ breath and soon determined that he was intoxicated. Mr. Haines was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he provided samples of his breath for chemical testing to determine the content of alcohol in his blood. Mr. Haines was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Failure to Maintain Lane, and Discarding Debris From a Motor Vehicle. He was released to the custody of a responsible adult and his vehicle was towed and impounded
