Driving While Intoxicated/Warrants



On Friday, May 13, at approximately 11:55 pm, an officer stopped a 2002 Nissan Sentra operated by Jose Rosario-Diaz, age 45, of Allentown, PA for failing to maintain lane on Route 22 West near Petticoat Lane. During the stop, the officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage on Mr. Rosario-Diaz’s breath and soon determined that he was intoxicated. Mr. Rosario-Diaz was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he provided samples of his breath for chemical testing to determine the content of alcohol in his blood. Mr. Rosario-Diaz was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Consumption of an Alcoholic Beverage While Operating a Motor Vehicle, Failure to Maintain Lane, and Maintenance of Lamps. He was then turned over directly to the Phillipsburg Police Department as a result of two active warrants for his arrest with a bail totaling $975. His vehicle was towed and impounded.
