On Sunday, January 29, at approximately 3:50 pm, an officer stopped a 2005 Pontiac G6 operated by Carlos Fierro, age 22, of El Paso, TX on Route 173 for equipment violations. During the stop, the officer observed Mr. Fierro to be overly nervous and soon learned that he did not have a driver’s license.
A search of the vehicle produced a glass pipe containing suspected methamphetamine as well as medication for which he did not have a prescription. Officers also seized approximately $5,000 in cash after developing probable cause to believe that it was derived from criminal activity. Mr. Fierro was charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of Prescription Medication Not In Original Container, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Operating a Motor Vehicle While In Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Driving While Unlicensed, Tinted Windows, and Maintenance of Lamps. He was released ROR. The Readington Township Police Department’s K- 9 Officer, the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office, the New Jersey State Police, and the El Paso County, TX Sheriff’s Department assisted.
