On Sunday, January 3, at approximately 3:40 pm, officers responded to a township residence for a report of a domestic dispute in progress. Upon arrival, police met with two township men who advised that their mother was intoxicated and had just attacked them. Officers observed one of the men to have large scratch marks on his left arm. The officer then met with the mother, a fifty (50) year-old township woman, inside of the house as she attempted to clean up broken glass in the foyer of the residence. As officers attempted to effect the mandatory arrest of the woman, she began to pull away and struggle while refusing to obey orders. Officers charged the woman with Simple Assault and Resisting Arrest. The woman suffered an abrasion to the bridge of her nose during the struggle and the rescue squad therefore had to respond to treat her. She was later released ROR.
