On Sunday, May 15, at approximately 2:35 am, an officer stopped a 2003 Honda sedan operated by Taliq Rachmaan, age 52, of Easton, for failing to maintain lane on Route 31 near Country Club Drive. During the stop, the officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage on Mr. Rachmaan’s breath and soon determined that he was intoxicated. Mr. Rachmaan was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he provided samples of his breath for chemical testing to determine the content of alcohol in his blood. He was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Consumption of an Alcoholic Beverage While Operating a Motor Vehicle, and Failure to Maintain Lane. He was released to the custody of a responsible adult and his vehicle was towed and impounded.
