On Sunday, October 23, at approximately 5:20 pm, officers responded to a township residence for a report of domestic violence. Upon arrival, officers met with a fortyseven (47) year-old township woman and her forty-eight (48) year-old boyfriend, also of Clinton Township. Both were visibly intoxicated. The woman advised that her boyfriend strangled her and punched her in the forehead and stomach. Officers observed signs of injury and therefore arrested the man. He was charged with Simple Assault and bail was set at $2,500. When the man was unable to post the necessary bail, he was transported to the Hunterdon County Jail. In addition, the victim requested and was granted a Temporary Restraining Order.
