Earl Carvatt Jr.
Earl “June” Carvatt Jr., 86 of Saint Nicholas Village in Lebanon Township, NJ died on January 15, 2016 in the Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, NJ.
He was born on August 8, 1929 in High Bridge, NJ the son of the late Earl Sr. and Addie (Sliker) Carvatt and lived in Saint Nicholas Village for over sixty years.
Earl worked for M&M Mars in Hackettstown, NJ from 1961 until his retirement in 1991 in building and grounds maintenance.
Earl was an Army Veteran and served in the Korean War earning numerous medals and was a member of VFW post 5119 in Glen Gardner, NJ and was a member of the Califon Fire Company.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing especially in Canada and loved playing his guitar.
Earl is survived by his son Wyatt Jacobus and wife Linda of Hampton NJ, a grandson Wyatt Jacobus Jr of Hampton, NJ, three great grandsons, Bill, Brock and Cory, four step grandchildren, five great step grandchildren, three great-great step grandchildren, a brother Robert Carvatt and wife Emily of Gretna VA, sisters Bernice Kerr of Gill CO and Lois Smutek and husband John of Alpha NJ and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents Earl was pre-deceased by his wife Wava (Trimmer) Carvatt, two step sons Donald and Douglas Trimmer and a great step grandchild.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday January 20, 2016 at 11:00AM in the Coughlin Funeral Home 15 Academy Street Califon, NJ 07830. Burial will follow in the Lower Valley Union Cemetery in Califon. Calling Hours will be on Tuesday from 5:00 until 8:00PM.
