Edward L. Yawger, age 68, of High Bridge

Edward L. Yawger, age 68, of High Bridge, NJ passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest Hospital in Allentown, PA.

He was born on September 3, 1948 in Somerville, NJ.  He was a resident of Hunterdon County, NJ for the past 33 years, moving from Bradley Gardens, NJ.

He was the son of the late Raymond and Elda Ross Yawger.

He was the husband of Patricia E. Holoman Yawger, celebrating 38 years of marriage.

Ed was a retired Leadman Furnace Operator for US Bronze Powders in Flemington, NJ.

Ed and his wife Patricia attended the High Bridge United Methodist Church and he was a past member of the Bradley Gardens Fire Company.

Years ago, he enjoyed hunting and also playing softball – he played on softball teams for his work and church at the time.  Ed also loved to watch football and boxing and was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers.  He had a passion for fixing things for people and was always keeping busy helping people.  He also enjoyed playing games with his friends and family, especially playing scrabble, horse shoes, 500 Rummy and Mille Bornes.  Most of all, Ed loved to spend time with his grandchildren and would always help out babysitting them.

Survivors in addition to his loving wife include 2 sons; Edward L. Yawger II and his wife Samantha of Alpha, NJ and Andrew R. Yawger and Kristin Hann of High Bridge, NJ.  3 grandchildren; Kevin Yawger, Katrina Yawger and Nathan Yawger.  2 brothers; Scott Boeman and his wife Marlene of Gilbert, PA and Robert Yawger and Gladys Yawger of Pen Argyl, PA.  3 sisters; his twin sister Elda Ward and her husband Jack of Lebanon, NJ, Carol Groff of Nazareth, PA and Sharon Ziolkowski and her husband Frank of Easton, PA.  Sister-in-law; Dolores DeLorenzo of Bridgewater, NJ.  Brother-in-law; Joseph Holoman and his wife Joan of Salisbury Twp., PA.  Ed is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Predeceased by his son; Roy Edward McCumbers Jr. who passed away in July of 2016 and his nephew; Tommy Holoman who passed away in March 2016.
