Elizabeth ‘Libby’ Koschker
Elizabeth ‘Libby’ Koschker, age 83, of Lebanon Twp., NJ passed away on Friday, June 5, 2015 at home.
She was born in Lebanon Twp., NJ and had lived her entire life in the Township.
She was the daughter of the late George Washington and Mary Haggerty Alpaugh.
Libby’s husband, George A. Koschker, passed away in 1993.
At age 10, she was in the Ground Observer Corps. during World War II, providing over 1,000 hours of service.
She was a graduate of High Bridge High School, class of 1950.
Libby was a Lieutenant for the NJ State Department of Corrections, retiring from Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women in Union Twp., NJ.
She was a member of the Eastern Star Stewart Chapter #166 for over 25 years. She was also a Charter member of the Lebanon Twp. Ladies Auxiliary. She was a Ham Radio Operator and volunteered with the NJ Civil Defense. She also worked the flood on the Delaware in 1955.
Libby loved to sew, bake pies and crochet doilies.
Survivors include 2 daughters; April Koschker of Lebanon Twp., NJ and Cheryl Maszkiewicz and her husband Walter of Rutherfordton, NC. 1 grandson; Christopher George Runyon and his wife Athena of Pemberton, NJ.
Predeceased by 1 brother; Freeman Alpaugh.
Gathering of friends will be Tuesday, June 9, 2015 from 6-9pm at Naughright-Scarponi Funeral Home, 66 Main Street, High Bridge, NJ. Interment will be private.
