Frank Ernest Stapfer, age 88, of Asbury Park, NJ passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at home.
He was born on March 4, 1927 in Newark, NJ and had resided in Asbury Park, NJ for 7 months after living in Hunterdon County for 30 years.
He was predeceased by his father and mother Ernest and Irma Stapfer and his wife Beverly Stapfer of 57 years, who passed away on January 22, 2008.
Frank was a World War II veteran, serving with the US Navy in 1945 and 1946.
He was a Machinist, owning and operating Hudson Manufacturing Corp. in Millburn, NJ.
Frank loved the outdoors and enjoyed boating, camping, fishing and taking trips in his RV. He loved touring the country, going to Key West with his friends and being at his lake house on Lake Wallenpaupack. He also enjoyed dining out with family and friends and was an avid Giants fan.
He is survived by his children; Jeffrey F. Stapfer and his wife Jacqueline of Springfield, NJ; Craig R. Stapfer and his wife Penney of New Providence, NJ; Dawna L. Spangler and her husband Kevin of Pocomoke City, MD; Laura L. Draus and her husband Henry of Pittstown, NJ and Cynthia J. Kugelman and her husband Bill of Milford, NJ. Grandchildren; Jessica Hanauer and her husband Brent; Jeffrey Stapfer; Timothy Stapfer and his wife Lauren; Kathryn Stapfer; Nicole Spangler; Christy, Reneé, and Brian Quickstad; Paige and Derek Kugelman. Great-grandchildren; Cole and Bryce Hanauer, and Matthew Stapfer. Sister; Norma Glendon and her husband Jim of Parsippany, NJ and nieces; Kim Thorne and Kathy Glendon. Including many other countless family and friends who will miss him dearly.
Calling hours will be Monday, January 25, 2016 from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. The funeral Service will be Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 11:30am. All will be held at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ. Interment at Locust Grove Cemetery in Quakertown, NJ.
