Frank J. Pish, Sr., 82, entered eternal rest on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at Hunterdon Care Center. Born in South Amboy, NJ, son of the late John and Stella (Szot) Pish, he was raised in South River before settling in Flemington in 2004. Frank and his beloved wife lived in Plainfield for 22 years before moving to Bridgewater where they lived for 25 years before settling in this area.
Frank graduated from Rutgers University with a BA in Business Administration and he faithfully followed the Rutgers football games. Frank also completed the Savings Bank Association certification at Brown University. Frank worked and the Plainfield Savings bank before retiring as V.P. and mortgage officer from the Dime Savings Bank. Frank was a dedicated bowler; where he was also a secretary of the bowling league. In addition to following his favorite football team, the NY Giants, Frank loved playing golf, watching WWII war movies and spending time with his two grandchildren. Frank was a communicant of St. Magdalen de Pazzi Roman Catholic Church in Flemington.
Frank leaves behind his devoted wife of 59 years, Cathy (Faso); loving son Frank J. Pish, Jr. and wife, Claire of Flemington; adored granddaughter, Lindsay Barna and husband Tony of High Bridge, NJ; adored grandson, Jonathan and wife Marianne of High Bridge, NJ; dear sisters, Patricia Pish of South River and Jacquelyn Jones and husband Bill of Overland Park, Kansas; beloved sister-in-law Rosemary McDonnell of Bridgewater, NJ and Cathy’s dear beloved stepmother, Alice (Dilkes) Faso. He will also be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews and close friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Thursday, November 5 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and on Friday, November 6 from 9-9:45 a.m. Funeral services will begin on Friday, November 6, at 9:45 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 10:30 a.m. funeral liturgy at St. Magdalen de Pazzi Roman Catholic Church in Flemington. Committal words and interment will follow at St. Magdalen de Pazzi Roman Catholic Mausoleum in Flemington. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Frank’s name can be made to Hunterdon Care Center, 1 Leisure Court, Flemington, NJ 08822, memo “Patient Life Enrichment”.
