If you needed an excuse to pour a glass of your favorite red or white wine, we’ve got you covered: a scientist has written a book claiming that wine consumption is good for your brain.
Gordon Shepherd, a professor of neuroscience at Yale School of Medicine, found that drinking wine engages more parts of the brain than any other activity. The man behind our new favorite piece of data explains in his new book “Neuroenology: How the Brain Creates the Taste of Wine” that swirling a sip of wine in your mouth activates more parts of the brain than listening to music, or even doing math homework. Crazy, right?
So next time you want to pop a bottle, just consider it exercise for your brain. You’re just doing it for your physical and mental well-being!
