George J. Sekela, age 90, of Lebanon Twp., NJ passed away on Monday, September 25, 2017 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Twp., NJ.
He was born on January 19, 1927 in Glen Gardner, NJ. He resided at the home that he was born in for his entire life.
He was the son of the late William and Mary Lis Sekela.
He was the husband of Nadima Melhem Sekela.
George was a World War II Veteran, serving in the United States Army from 1944 to 1948.
George worked for the State of New Jersey Road Department in Annandale, NJ for 28 years. He also worked on the family farm for 72 years of his life, beginning at age 9.
Memberships include the Glen Gardner VFW Post 5119.
George enjoyed going to Gronsky’s for breakfast and working on his farm. He was a friend to all and will always be remembered for his hard work.
Survivors in ddition to his wife include two sisters; Helen Van Doren of Lamington, NJ and Anna Jackson of North Branch, NJ. Several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by two brothers; Walter Sekela and Frank Sekela.
Calling hours will be Thursday, September 28, 2017 from 10am to 12:30pm. Funeral Service will immediately follow at 12:30pm. All at Naughright-Scarponi Funeral Home, 66 Main Street, High Bridge, NJ. Interment at Mountain View Cemetery in Cokesbury, NJ.
