Gertrude D. “Trudy” Blake, 87

Holland Pa. Gertrude D. “Trudy” Blake, 87 died Saturday at her home. 
Born in West Haven, Ct. Mrs. Blake had lived in the Bucks County area most of her adult life. 

On October 11, 1958 she married the love of her life William Nelson Blake. She attended the Bullard Haven Technical School of Fashion and Design and Dress Making from 1942-1946, in New Haven Ct., the Fashion Institute of New York City from 1951 – 1953 majoring in Fashion Designer and Illustration. She worked at Spadea Fashion Design Inc. of New York City as Assistant Designer from 
1953 – 1958. Trudy retired from the Delaware Valley College Library after 15 years of employment as Assistant Director of Circulation. She was a member of the Thompson Memorial Church, its Choir and its Women’s Association. Over the years she organized numerous fashion shows and was an avid gardener. 

Daughter of the late George and Martha Doms and widow of William Nelson Blake, she is survived by one daughter Katherine Marriott and her husband Doug, two sons, Robert Blake, William S. Blake and his wife Patricia, three grandchildren, Ryan, Zachary, Kayla Marriott, one sister Ellen Heye of Fl, and several beloved nieces and nephews living in Florida, California and Massachusetts. 

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 18 at 2:30 pm at the Thompson Memorial Church, 1680 Aquetong Rd., New Hope, Pa. Calling hours will be Friday from 7-9 pm at the Garefino Funeral Home, 12 N. Franklin St. Lambertville, NJ.
