Baton Rouge, LA – Harry J. Fitzgerald age 98, died April 15, 2015, two weeks shy of his 99th birthday. A native of New Jersey, he had been a resident of Baton Rouge since 1980.
Born April 29, 1916 in Milford, NJ, Harry is the son of the late John Henry and Emma (Moninghoff) Fitzgerald.
Harry worked as a Supervisor with the former Wilson Products in Neshanic, NJ.
Preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Margaret Bellington Fitzgerald, and his second wife, Bessie Lee Fitzgerald, Harry is survived by a son, Harry Jr. and wife Marjorie of Baton Rouge, and a daughter Elizabeth Mikovich and husband Ambrose of Branchburg, NJ; six grandchildren and their spouses Karen F. Trappey (Fritz), John H. Fitzgerald (Kari), Paul Fitzgerald (April), Shari F. Ashe (Adam), Joan M. Campion (Michael), Carol Mikovich (Andres); eleven great-grandchildren and a brother, Martin Fitzgerald.
He was an active member of St. Louis King of France Church (Baton Rouge) and a member of the Ushers Society there.
Calling hours will be Monday evening, April 20, 2015 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822. A Rosary service will be said at 7:30 pm on Monday evening. Interment will be on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Magdalen Cemetery, North Main Street in Flemington.
