Heroin/Suboxone/Hypodermic Syringe

On Tuesday, May 3, at approximately 10:50 am, an officer stopped a 1997 Honda Prelude on Route 31 South near Regional Road for having a brake light out. During the stop, officers learned that passenger Alexis Cap, age 27, of Lake Hiawatha, had $1,500 in criminal and motor vehicle warrants for her arrest out of Montville and Totowa. A subsequent investigation revealed that Ms. Cap was in possession of seven (7) bags of heroin, one (1) Suboxone strip, and a hypodermic syringe. As a result, Ms. Cap was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. When she was unable to post the necessary bail, she was turned over directly to the Montville Police Department. Passenger Casey Ahlquist of Clinton was issued a motor vehicle summons for Discarding Debris From A Motor Vehicle.
