High School Robotics Competition (FTC) to be Held at RVCC

Raritan Valley Community College is co-sponsoring the 2015 NJ-FTC (FIRST Tech Challenge) Southern NJ Meet Championship, Sunday, February 15, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The event, which is free of charge and open to the public, will feature a competition of 24 FTC high school robotics teams from throughout New Jersey. It will be held in the Gymnasium at the College’s Branchburg Campus. This is the first time that RVCC is hosting a robotics event of this scale, and RVCC President Dr. Michael J. McDonough will offer a welcome address. Designed for middle and high school students, FTC is a robotics program that is focused on building a better world for tomorrow by engaging students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Members of RVCC faculty, including those from the Visual & Performing Arts and Science & Engineering departments, administrators and staff have been working closely with the NJ-FTC and other community members to organize an inspiring and successful event for the community.
