HUINTERDON Cultural & Heritage Commission presents “In-Kind Contribution Program: A must for all nonprofits”

Flemington, NJ – volunteers and staff of non-profit organizations are invited to attend a professional development workshop on in-kind donations presented by The Hunterdon County Cultural & Heritage Commission on September 14, 2017, at the historic Hunterdon County Courthouse, 71 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822.

Pat Bohse, President of Bohse & Associates, a management consulting firm based in New Jersey for the past 28 years, will lead the workshop and demonstrate how to secure, document and leverage in-kind donations. An in-kind donation is any non-cash contribution that can be given cash value: labor, products, or services for which the organization would normally have to pay. Two sessions of the program are available – the first takes place from 1:30 – 4:00pm. The second session (a repeat of the first) takes place from 6:00 – 8:30pm. Ninety percent of the nonprofits that benefit from in-kind support do not document these contributions, which can be used to match government and private funds, and to leverage additional funding.  Learning objectives in this workshop include: understanding in-kind donations as a funding opportunity, establishing policies and procedures for handling in-kind donations, and developing wish lists and resources to help obtain in-kind donations.

Pat Bohse serves on the Board of Directors for National Association of Nutrition and Aging Services Programs (NANASP) in Washington, DC. She is a nationally recognized speaker, a member of the National Speakers Association, and an adjunct professor for Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, NJ. She is the Executive Director of SCAN (Senior Community Activities Network), a not-for-profit in Eatontown, NJ. She provides consulting services related to various aspects of nonprofit management.
