Making Parenting Fun: The Game That Gets Families Talking

Kumari Ghafoor-Davis, MSW, author of Real Talk: Ten Parenting Strategies to Raise Confident Successful Children, will speak on January 17 at 7 pm at the Hunterdon County Library, Rt. 12, Flemington. She will discuss the game which focuses on family values, talk about its creation and then teach parents and children how to play it. Kumari created her game out of necessity because so many parents are struggling to communicate with their children and need ways to engage them, especially teens. Kumari has over 20 years of experience in social services. A graduate of Columbia University School of Social Work (CUSSW), she has worked with children and families in schools, inpatient/outpatient programs, independent living/aging out programs for foster care youth, group homes, half way houses, and crisis units for adults and children.

Pamela Bond Contractor will talk about uterine cancer at the Hunterdon County Library, Rt. 12, Flemington, on January 28 at 2:00 pm. Pamela is a uterine cancer survivor and a Peer Health Educator in raising awareness of this fourth most common cancer in US women, and the most common gynecologic cancer.
