HUNTERDON ASSEMBLYMAN Peterson named to Prisoner Reentry Commission


Assembly Republican Leader Jon Bramnick announced Friday the selection of Assemblyman Erik Peterson to serve on the Prisoner Reentry Commission, which advises the Department of Corrections on problems facing prisoners re-entering society.

“Despite New Jersey’s declining prison populations, nearly 66 percent of prisoners released reoffend, creating a cycle where a served sentence can easily turn into a life sentence,” said Peterson (R-Hunterdon). “I look forward to serving on this panel to help develop a common sense approach to release and re-entry plans that acclimate prisoners back into society as law abiding, productive individuals
