Hunterdon Behavioral Health to Host Program on Technology and Mental Health
Hunterdon Behavioral Health Intensive Family Support Services invites the community to a special program on Monday, September 18 to learn about technology, social media and mental health. The program will be held from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. in Meeting Room C at Hunterdon Medical Center, located at 2100 Wescott Drive, Flemington.
The discussion will be led by Sally Lam, MA, LPC, ACS, Psychotherapist with Hunterdon Behavioral Health. Topics of discussion will include cyber addiction, risk factors, how internet addiction affects mental health and parenting tips.
Intensive Family Support Services assists families in their understanding of psychiatric disorders and the effects upon family life. Their goal is to form a collaborative, therapeutic alliance with families so that they can increase their knowledge, as well as coping and communication skills. IFSS consults with families about their individual needs. The counselors work with families to reduce isolation, stigma, and increase their understanding of mental illness. IFSS is crucial to families so that they do not feel overwhelmed during a time of crisis.
