The renovations to Hunterdon County’s Off Leash Dog Park at the Route 12 County complex have been completed and after a week-long closure the park is now open and ready for four-legged guests and their owners.
Hunterdon Freeholder Director John E. Lanza said, “”For many of our residents, being able to spend quality time with their dogs and allowing them time to exercise and play is important. The Division of Maintenance and Facilities worked expeditiously in order to get the dog park on line as quickly as possible. They were able to complete all interior renovations in one week and the park is now open again for all residents and their canine companions.”
The park now has two enclosures, one for large dogs and a separate side for small dogs, with brand new fencing installed for safety and security. Benches have been installed for convenience and, in the future, the exterior sidewalk will be upgraded and new signage will be put in place.
The Dog Park is located at 314 Rt. 12 and it is open to the public every day from dawn to dusk. All dogs must have a current dog license and vaccination tags to enter the park and also have a leash on prior to entering the fenced in areas.
