Hunterdon County Polytech’s Animal Science students, in conjunction with HarnessLife.org and the People for Animals Mobile Veterinary Clinic, will be hosting a spaying and neutering event on Monday, May 23rd. The event will take place in People for Animals Mobile Veterinary Clinic, which will be parked adjacent to Polytech’s Animal Science building on the school’s Central campus, located off Junction Road in Flemington. Thanks to funding from HarnessLife.org’s Spay-Neuter Fund, 25 free sterilizations will be performed throughout the day. “This event is going to give the students an opportunity to experience a mobile veterinary clinic in action and become comfortable in an environment much different from the classroom,” said Ms. Romanczak, Polytech’s Animal Science instructor. By offering the 25 free sterilizations and partnering with Polytech, HarnessLife.org and People for Animals are working to prevent unwanted litters in Hunterdon while also providing a unique educational experience to the students. The event will offer services to both feral and owned pets throughout Hunterdon County, and although all appointments are currently filled, interested individuals can contact firstname.lastname@example.org by May 16 to be placed on a waiting list. “This is the type of event that we love our students to participate in. The educational value is obvious, and the contributions being made to the community demonstrate Polytech’s commitment to helping our kids develop into caring citizens,” said Mr. Kerr, Principal of Polytech.
