On March 21, Marc Saluk will join the Planning, Economic Development and Land Use Department as the Director of Economic Development.
Marc comes to Hunterdon County from a rural county in Ohio that shares an agricultural background and similar preservation goals. Marc brings a demonstrated record of success as the Economic Development Director for the Darke County Community Improvement Corporation, building successful projects with Whirlpool, Honeywell, BASF and Marathon Oil and adding over 1,500 jobs to the region. His strengths in developing regional partnership and fostering strong, working relationships between industry, political jurisdictions and education support his ability to effectively lead Hunterdon’s economic development initiative.
Marc reviewed the County’s progress in setting the stage for implementation of its Plan for the Future, and added, “Hunterdon County has done an excellent job putting the current public-private initiative together and I feel fortunate to now be a part of such a strong team. I’m looking forward to getting started and excited about what we can all achieve together.”
Marc will assume a leadership role in the implementation of the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) which will guide the County’s plan for its economic future. His office will be located within the Planning Department located at the Route 12 County Complex, adding his expertise to the resources within the Planning Department. His public and private sector experience provides an excellent base for this new position. Coalition building and communication will be essential elements of his new responsibilities.
We look forward to having Marc join the Department and add his expertise to the County’s newly created Economic Development Division.
