Hunterdon Cty Library Knitters Unite Oct 26
October 6, 2016
The Hunterdon County Library will hold the second annual “Knitters Unite!” kick-off meeting October 26th at 7 pm on the lower level of the Headquarters Library, 314 Route 12, Flemington. This dynamic group, which created over 450 hats and other items for Veterans Haven North last year, will be knitting and crocheting hats, scarves and mittens to be donated to the Flemington Food Pantry, Open Cupboard Food Pantry in Clinton and other local organizations. The food pantries can use items sized for babies, children and adults—sets are very welcome.
Attendance at this meeting is not mandatory to participate in the project. Finished donations may be dropped off at the circulation desks at Headquarters (Rt. 12), North County and South County branches until December 17th only. Be sure to mark items either 100% wool – hand wash or machine washable. Tags will be available. For more information on the group, to donate your handmade goods to keep our Food Pantry patrons warm, or for information on how your organization can receive knitted items, please call Cheryl Grotrian at (908) 788-1422.
