Hunterdon County Freeholder Director Matt Holt has announced that the Raritan Valley Community College
(RVCC) Trustee Search Committee appointed Tuesday evening will be seeking Hunterdon County citizens
interested in being considered for appointment to the RVCC Board of Trustees.
“The RVCC Trustee Board is responsible for planning and policymaking for the College. Trustees have an
important role in ensuring the best academic standards and facilities are in place for students and the
continuation of RVCC as the recognized best community college in New Jersey. Trustees have a critical
assignment in representing Hunterdon County’s interests,” Freeholder Director Holt said.
The Trustee Board includes seven members appointed by the Somerset Board of Chosen Freeholders, three
members appointed by the Hunterdon Board of Chosen Freeholders, the Executive County Superintendents
from both Somerset and Hunterdon Counties, two members appointed by the Governor and an alumni
representative. The College President serves as an ex-officio member.
“State law requires the naming of a Trustee Search Committee that will consider those interested in serving as a
College Trustee and make a recommendation to the Freeholder Director. Presently there are two vacancies for
Hunterdon County representatives on the Board of Trustees, with the resignation of Trustee Gary Hazard, who
was recently sworn in as a Member of the Raritan Township Committee,” Holt added.
The Trustee Search Committee, appointed by the Freeholders at the February 6th Board meeting, includes; Lisa
Pezzano of Holland Township, Jeffrey Perron of Flemington, Beth Schemerhorn of Lambertville, Carl Taylor of
Flemington, and Marc Saluk of Clinton.
Individuals interested in consideration should forward an indication of interest and a resume to: Denise Doolan,
Clerk of the Hunterdon County Board of Chosen Freeholders, 71 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822.
