Chamber Honoring Edna Pedrick as this year’s Grand Marshall of the Hunterdon Holiday Parade
The Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce is honored to announce that Edna Pedrick of Flemington will be this year’s Grand Marshall for the Hunterdon Holiday Parade, which will take place on Sunday, December 4th at 5 PM on Main Street in the County Seat of Flemington.
“How wonderful to honor someone like Grand Marshall Edna Pedrick who has given so much of her time and been such a good friend to the County, to Flemington Borough, and to me personally.” said Mary Melfi, Hunterdon County Clerk and Chair of the Annual Hunterdon Holiday Parade.
Edna Pedrick has been a valuable volunteer for the Borough of Flemington for decades. She has served as a longtime member of the Borough Planning Board and has been instrumental in the Borough’s Beautification Committee and the Shade Tree Commission. For many years she would drive around town watering planters from milk jugs she kept in the trunk of her car. She then moved on to driving the water tanker truck to keep Flemington looking beautiful. Edna has been involved since the inception of the Samuel Fleming House museum and was instrumental in having the Borough purchase this property. She spends countless hours each month taking care of the museum and property. For 15 years Edna organized the Clean Communities Program for the Borough, overseeing the volunteers work on cleanup days and even preparing food to thank them for their efforts.
The Chamber is also excited to have some great musical performances added to the parade line up this year including The Brooklyn United Marching Band, The Aqua String Mummers Band and the St. Ann’s of Hampton Pipes and Drums. In addition, The Hunterdon Central Red Devil Marching Band will be present. All local businesses and community groups are strongly encouraged to participate in this annual event. The Hunterdon Holiday Parade provides an opportunity for local businesses and the entire community to interact together during this holiday season. Float registration is $25 for non-profit organizations and $100 for businesses. All groups, with the exception of bands, must be on a float. To participate in the parade, your float must have a Holiday theme and be approved by the Chamber. For more information or to register, please call 908-782-7115 or visit www.hunterdon-chamber.org.
