Are you a good listener? Are you compassionate and empathetic? Would you like to help people in your community who truly could use your help? Maybe you have a special skill to share, like the ability to perform Reiki or play an instrument. Or, have you served our country as a Veteran of the U.S. Military? If the answer to any of those questions is yes, you may be a great fit as a Hunterdon Hospice Volunteer. Your experience, skills, and most of all your willingness to help, can enhance the quality of life for our patients and families.

Beginning April 2nd, Hunterdon Hospice is offering a free Volunteer Training program to educate volunteers about hospice, the services we provide and the role of the volunteer. This multidisciplinary training covers all aspects of hospice, so the volunteer feels knowledgeable, comfortable, and prepared to provide support to patients and their families in Hunterdon County. Hunterdon Hospice is now accepting applications for this Volunteer Training program. Classes meet on Saturday, April 2nd and 9th, from 9AM 4PM, and Friday, April 15th from 4:30PM 7:30PM. The Volunteer Training takes place at Hunterdon Hospice office located at 215 Route 31 South, in Flemington, NJ.

Hunterdon Hospice is a Medicare-certified, non-profit organization, which coordinates home-based supportive services in the homes of its patients. Hospice offers a special kind of care designed to support and comfort people living with a terminal illness. Volunteers are a valuable resource for both patients and families, providing companionship, respite, and keeping families connected to the community. Hospice volunteer opportunities can also include assisting with fundraising events, educating the community, working in the office, or utilizing your own special skills like: notary, beautician, writer, or yoga teacher.
